Our pristine 80-acre property features an elegant tasting room, our full-service restaurant – The Bistro at Flat Creek Estate, a covered pavilion, and a one-of-a-kind, 18-hole disc golf course. Led by Flat Creek Estate owner Eva Horton, we are transforming what has been described as the most beautiful 80 acres in all of Texas. Eva’s background in real estate and retail and her radiant personality have been the guiding influence of Flat Creek Estate’s transformation. With a focus on exceptional experiences and warm customer service, Eva’s leadership shines through each aspect of Flat Creek Estate.

Eva Horton

OWNER

Eva Horton is the owner of Flat Creek Winery, an 80-acre entertainment destination located just outside of Austin that features a tasting room, full-service bistro, outdoor pavillion and best-in-class wines developed straight from Flat Creek’s vineyard. Eva is a leading partner at Post Lake Capital Partners, managing investment sales, private investors and special asset servicing entities. She is Managing Director of Newmark, where her unique approach of working closely with clients throughout the development and entitlement process creates long-lasting relationships.

Early in her career, Eva’s skill in strategically developing relationships led her to be recruited early to manage a branch of a Lawyers Title subsidiary. Within two years she had directed the development of eight offices, a building that grossed more than $1 million dollars of revenue within its first year of operation. Since then, Eva has worked with a wide range of retail and office developers to produce profitable retail, office, hotel and special-use spaces.

Today, Eva is applying her knowledge of commercial real estate and retail to transform Flat Creek Estate into a premier destination for visitors from across Texas and beyond to enjoy world-class wines from fruits grown on-site in Flat Creek’s vineyard. Her expertise, warmth and exceptional customer service create memorable experiences for every visitor.

Under Eva’s leadership, Flat Creek Estate has emerged as one of the leading wineries in Texas. Condé Nast named Flat Creek one of the four best day trips from Austin, calling the winery “a super Texan winery known for its Super Texan,” the vineyard’s signature blend. Food & Wine included Flat Creek Estate on their list of the 50 Most Amazing Wine Experiences in America, and the winery has earned more than 400 accolades since its inception.

Eva was born and raised in Hugo, Oklahoma, but chose to attend the University of Texas in Austin, and later moved to Dallas to start her real estate career.   When Eva wasn’t working on real estate transactions, she followed her love for the Dallas Cowboys by becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and is now a current member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Alumni Association.

Olivier De Certaines

Winemaker

Olivier De Certaines, a distinguished winemaker hailing from the picturesque landscapes of France, thrives to leave an indelible mark on the world of winemaking in Texas. As the esteemed winemaker for Flat Creek Estate in Marble Falls, Olivier continues to captivate wine enthusiasts with his passion for creating exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Texas Hill Country.

Born into a family with deep-rooted connections to winemaking, Olivier’s journey into the world of viticulture was seemingly destined from a young age. Growing up in the renowned vineyards of Beaujolais, France, he was exposed to the art of winemaking under the watchful eye of his grandfather, the venerable Louis De Certaines, a distinguished winemaker himself. From tending to the vines during his teenage years to understanding the nuances of the grape-growing process, Olivier’s formative years were steeped in the rich traditions of winemaking, setting the foundation for his career.

With an unwavering commitment to mastering his craft, Olivier pursued a formal education in both biology and winemaking in France, solidifying his expertise in the science behind the art of wine production. Armed with this knowledge, he ventured to Victoria, Australia, where he honed his skills further while working at a prestigious vineyard renowned for its excellence in producing world-class wines.

In 2016, Olivier found himself drawn to the enchanting landscape of the Texas Hill Country, an emerging wine region that presented an exciting opportunity to contribute his expertise and passion to the blossoming Texan wine industry. Joining one of the region’s most esteemed wineries as an assistant winemaker, Olivier quickly established himself as a driving force behind the creation of exceptional vintages that garnered both critical acclaim and adoration from wine aficionados.

Through his skillful blending techniques and keen attention to detail, Olivier crafts wines that express the nuances of each grape varietal, showcasing a delicate balance of flavors and textures.

As Olivier embraces the role of winemaker at Flat Creek Estate, he carries forward a legacy of award-winning wines and a dedication to preserving the connection between land, grape, and winemaker. With passion and precision, Olivier’s journey stands as a testament to the power of tradition, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of perfection in the world of winemaking.

Jean Hoefliger

Jean Hoefliger is a renowned winemaker and business consultant at JH Wine Consulting Inc. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, he has established himself as a master of his craft. As the curator of top California wines for Flat Creek, Hoefliger brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. His innovative approach to winemaking, blending traditional techniques with modern advancements, results in exceptional vintages that capture the essence of the terroir. With an unwavering commitment to quality, Hoefliger’s curated selections at Flat Creek Estate offer wine enthusiasts an unparalleled experience of California’s finest offerings to Texas.

Our Facilities

Two things are at the heart and soul of what we produce: amazing wine and incredible experiences. Both begin with our 80-acre estate of quintessential Texas Hill Country land.

The Grounds

On it, we have 17 acres of vines, with 9 varietals – each selected for our specific soil and microclimate. Our vineyards are meticulously maintained and custom farmed for the utmost quality. The attention to detail produces world-class fruit for our Estate Wines.

Disc Golf

Designed by the renowned John Houck, our one-of-a-kind, 18-hole disc golf course weaves its way through the rows of vineyards, over water features, and around our hospitality spaces.
